About Me

Hi! I'm Sharynne, a software engineer based in Kansas City, MO. My main area of interest is in frontend development. HTML, CSS, JS, building small and large-scale web apps with React. I also have full-stack developer experience working with databases, microservices, and most recently learning GraphQL.

My goal as an engineer to understand the human side of software development. In the words of Jeff Atwood, "Computers are fascinating machines, but they're mostly a reflection of the people using them... you have to study the people behind the software too." I love learning about concepts in UX design and the psychology behind user behavior.

When I'm not buried in code, I enjoy playing video games and going on food adventures! I believe the best way to learn about a person and their culture is through their food. I spend much of my weekends trying new restaurants and learning how to cook different cuisines. You can follow my adventures here on Instagram!

Here are some technologies I've been working with recently:
  • JavaScript (ES6+)
  • HTML / CSS
  • React
  • React Native
  • Ruby on Rails
  • GraphQL
